I guess the best place to start would be, it's nothing like The Soft Bulletin! Not that that's a bad thing, in fact it's a very good thing but for some people the idea that bands should keep progressing is too much to swallow.

This album is probably the furthest from an accessible album they have recorded in decades, where the last album 'Embryonic' was a dense piece of work it was perhaps overly long which maybe lost it a little along the way. This is a much darker affair, at times verging on scary, but that's exactly what they were aiming for and with such an apt title as well. 'Look…the sun is rising' launches the album off with its looped synth riff stabbing away underneath before Wayne's recognisable yelp comes barking in and then there's the stabbing, jarring guitars which keep recurring throughout this album. 'You lust' may be the turn off point for some people due to its just over 13 minute running time. It really is a grower but if you don't succumb to its charms then it may turn you off the album completely.

It all works together to make a great album but really only in the albums context. If you let it suck you into its darkness you will be rewarded for your efforts but this isn't something you can just casually listen to.
