Is it me, or are we being spoilt with so much good music in 2013 and we are not even half way through? Junip’s self titled second album is one of those instantly memorable albums that will be sure to gain numerous plays at AMP HQ throughout the year.

The album is full of intense, haunting and beautiful atmospherics that will transport you to a place of tranquility. For those of you who don’t know, the vocals in Junip belong to Jose Gonzalez and if you are familiar with his work you will know that Jose's vocals are heartwarming and emotive, however on this album it is not the vocals that take centre stage. The combination of percussion, acoustics and electronics provided by Elias Araya and Tobias Winterkorn are the perfect companion to Jose’s vocals which finds the listener battling with himself as to what to focus on, the music or the vocals.

Highlights on this album? Well I don’t quite know where to start. This is an album that you can gain enjoyment from every second of music that is created, from the infectious, dreamy opener of ‘Line Of Fire’ to the haunting and enchanting closing track ‘After All Is Said And Done’ your entire body, soul and mind will be taken over by the music throughout this album.

If you are looking for an album to soundtrack a peaceful summers evening or an album that you can shut yourself away from the world and escape reality then Junip is the album that you need to be listening to.
