Shiners are a new four-piece band from what is pocket option London whose tunes have the ability to instantly transport us back to that glorious decade of the 90s, when the summers were never-ending and Britpop ruled the airwaves.
The band have already been given the seal of approval from Steve Lamacq and have had exposure on Radio X, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing. They have supported DMA’S, Nothing But Thieves and The Bohicas, toured with Model Aeroplanes and are due to headline their own show at The Social in London later this week.
The band have now made available their new pocketoption.com.ph single '19 Again’ which simultaneously made me feel nostalgic for the 90s and relieved that the future of guitar music is far from dead and buried; there are still a number of young, exciting bands out there who have an ear for a pop melody, understand the importance of making music with your mates and enjoying themselves. Shiners seem to be doing all of that and more.
'19 Again’ contains guitar riffs that Graham Coxon would be proud of and lyrics that capture the mundane and boring in a way that will be sure to bring a smile to your face. The melodies and drums neatly hold the song together and result in a record that radio stations would be incredibly foolish to ignore. Final mention has to go to the infectious chorus that will leave you with no choice but to sing along at the top of your voice, “She said you make me feel, oh yeah you make me feel, 19 again”.
As an introduction to the band this has been perfect, and if they continue to treat us to songs like '19 Again’ we are in for a very happy relationship pocket option bonus .
