Every now and again you discover a band that completely knocks you off your feet, makes you stop dead in your tracks, and forget everything else that you are meant to be doing. A band that after one listen you know you are listening to something very special. That is exactly what happened when I started listening to The Birdman Rallies. This is a band, who have absolutely everything and more. This is a band overflowing with talent. Songs which are full of hooks, time signatures and perfect arrangements.

The Birdman Rallies list their influences as being; Deerhoof, Elliot Smith, Captain Beefheart, The Shins, Guided By Voices, Love, Neil Young, Chemical Brothers, Kate Bush, Bjork, Beatles, and Pixies. All of these influences can be heard in their songs, you can also hear The Kinks, Small Faces, Flaming Lips and Grandaddy amongst these songs. The Birdman Rallies write songs that mix acoustic, electronic, indie, pop, dance, and in so doing create the best music you are likely to hear this year, next year and for a very long time to come.

Words simply can’t do this band justice, you have to go and have a listen for yourself. If you do I can assure you it will be the best thing you have done musically for a very long time.
