Palma Violets
Best Of Friends

Released: 22nd October 2012
Label: Rough Trade

Ten years ago Rough Trade records released ‘What A Waster’ the debut EP from The Libertines, we all know the story that followed. Since The Libertines departed, guitar music has been on a downturn. Well, that is all about to change. Rough Trade are once again releasing a single that is going to give guitar music the new lease of life that is well overdue.

Palma Violets are a band that are worthy of all the hype and excitement that is thrown their way, this is a band who we can put all our faith in and they will not let us down. ‘Best Of Friends’ is an instant anthem and is going to provide the soundtrack to many a night out over the next few years. ‘Last Of The Summer Wine’ showcases a softer side to the band, with timeless melodies and vocals that, at times, draw comparisons to Julian Casablancas.

If you have had the pleasure of seeing Palma Violets live you will not need me to tell you how great they are. This is a band with energy and excitement that rightly deserves to be compared to those early Libertines days.

The single is available through iTunes, together with limited edition 7 inch and CD. Ensure you get a copy now, in the future this will be one of those records that you will cherish and hold proudly aloft as proof that you were with this band from the start.
